If you are part of the Plenti® reward program, you can boost your points with the help of the Plenti® Credit Card from Amex, a Credit Cards House advertiser. This is a program that is a combined loyalty program that includes Macy’s, Exxon Mobil, AT&T, Expedia, Rite Aid, and other businesses. This combined program allows you to earn points faster since you can get them from all Plenti partners.
The Plenti® Credit Card from Amex adds another layer to your ability to earn Plenti points. When you use your card, you earn more points that can be added to your regular earnings. As long as you remember to scan your Plenti® card at checkout, and use your Plenti® Credit Card from Amex to pay, you can earn extra points when you shop with partners.

With this credit card, you earn Plenti® points that can then be redeemed at partner stores. This card provides 3 Plenti® points per dollar spent at U.S. supermarkets, up to $6,000 per year. You can also get unlimited 2 points per dollar when you spend at restaurants. All other spending offers unlimited one point per dollar. You can also convert Amex Membership Rewards® points to Plenti® points, further boosting the number of points you have.
You can also earn 5,000 Plenti® points when you make $250 worth of purchases within the first 3 months of card membership. This is a credit card that has no annual fee.

The main benefit of the Plenti® credit card is that you can boost your ability to earn Plenti® points. If you regularly shop at Plenti® partners, this can be a way to amass points faster in order to use them to get things you buy every day. You can use Plenti® points at partner stores to reduce what you pay on your bill.
The welcome bonus of 5,000 points amounts to a value of about $50 in purchases. American Express says that 1,000 Plenti® points through this program amounts to $10 in purchases, bringing the value of each point to 1.0 cents.
The opportunity to earn a higher number of points is also an advantage with this card. If you shop regularly at supermarkets, you can receive three points for each dollar spent, as well as receiving two points for each dollar spent at restaurants. On top of that, it’s possible to convert your Membership Rewards points to Plenti® points in order see even more points.
For the most part, the Plenti® Credit Card from Amex is only useful if you are very loyal to Plenti® partners in your shopping. Points can only be redeemed at partners for purchases. There isn’t a cash back option with this credit card.
Even though you can earn more at supermarkets and restaurants with the Plenti® Credit Card from Amex, you can’t stack your rewards because these are categories where there aren’t Plenti® partners. If you use this credit card, you need to do so with the plan of earning extra points on certain purchases, and then redeeming those points with Plenti® partners for regular purchases. For example, using your card at the supermarket to earn 3x the points, then applying those points to reduce the price of your next purchase at Macy’s.
Another consideration is the transfer of Amex Membership Rewards to Plenti® points. This isn’t a straight-across transfer. If you were to transfer 500 Membership Rewards to Plenti® points, you would only see 400 points. This reduces the effective value of your Membership Rewards and doesn’t provide you with as many Plenti® points as you might expect. While transferring to Plenti® is preferable to redeeming Membership Rewards for a statement credit, it’s still not a straight transfer that is likely to be worth the change.
The other disadvantage is that Plenti® points expire after two years. If you don’t use the points, you lose them. Membership Rewards from Amex never expire, so it might not make sense to convert them unless you know you will use them immediately.
The Plenti® Credit Card from Amex is best for those who are already part of the Plenti® rewards program and who shop at partner merchants. If you want a way to regularly reduce the cost of your purchases, the Plenti® Credit Card from Amex can boost your points-earning ability
