Chase Ink Cash® Business Card

One of the features that allow business credit cards to differ from consumer cards are the additional rewards for the kinds of purchases that businesses make the most. When you can earn additional cash back on your company's most frequent purchases, the savings can add up very quickly.

Nevertheless, business credit card users are looking for the same travel insurance and purchase protection benefits that other credit card users find valuable. Finally, it's essential that a new business find a card that offers these features at reasonable cost. The Chase Ink Business Cash® Credit Card offers up to 5% cash back on many business purchases, with no annual fee.

How this Card Works

For each dollar spent, cardholders receive 1% cash back. 2% cash back is earned on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at gas stations and restaurants each account anniversary year. Furthermore, 5% cash back is earned on the first $25,000 spent each cardmember year at office supply stores and on cellular phone, landline, Internet, and cable TV services. New cardholders also receive $900 bonus cash back after spending $6,000 on new purchases within three months of account opening.

Rewards are offered as points in Chase's Ultimate Rewards program which can be redeemed for cash back, shopping at Amazon.com, gift cards, or travel reservations.

In addition, new accounts receive 12 months of 0% APR promotional financing on new purchases. After the promotional financing period expires, the standard interest rate will apply to any remaining balance. The standard interest rate for this card is a variable 17.49%–23.49% APR, depending on your creditworthiness when you applied.

You can add employee cards to your account at no additional cost, and you have access to the Ink app. This app gives you 24/7 access to your card's activity which allows you to manage your account from wherever you are. Also, the Ink app syncs automatically with all of your Chase account so you can download your receipts and create reports with your purchase and tags. Using the Ink app, you can receive instant purchase alerts to find out about new charges the moment they happen.

Travel benefits include baggage delay insurance, lost luggage reimbursement, and auto rental collision damage waiver coverage. Shopping benefits include extended warranty protection that can add a year to your eligible product's manufacturer's warranty. You also receive purchase protection coverage that can reimburse you for up to $10,000 if a new purchase is damaged or stolen within 120 days.

There is no annual fee for this card, but there is a 3% foreign transaction fee imposed on all charges processed outside of the United States.

Advantages

This card offers new customers a competitive sign-up bonus of $900 along with the chance to earn very high levels of cash back. And every small business needs to purchase office supplies and pay for telecommunications services, which will earn 5% cash back. 2% cash back at gas stations and restaurants is also a great feature for business owners.

This card also has a very generous interest free promotional financing offer that lasts 12 months. New businesses can use an offer like this to smooth out their cash flow for an entire year. In addition, this card offers several useful benefits for travelers such as lost luggage and baggage delay insurance.

Finally, it is great to have all of these benefits without an annual fee.

Disadvantages

There is a $25,000 annual limit to both the 5x and 2x bonus categories. This might not be a problem for the smallest business, but a medium sized company may quickly reach that limit. Also, this card imposes a 3% charge on foreign transactions, which is an unnecessary fee that is quickly disappearing from the leading reward cards. Finally, this card doesn't offer you the option of transferring your points to miles, which is available on the Ink Plus card which has a $95 annual fee. Thankfully, you can transfer your points earned from the Ink Cash to another Chase card that offers this feature such as the Sapphire Preferred or Sapphire Reserve.

Bottom Line

The Chase Ink Business Cash® Credit Card is an extremely strong small business rewards card, considering that it has no annual fee. By offering as much as five cents per dollar spent on frequent business purchases, business owners are able to receive large amounts of cash back from this card.
